This study explores the perceptions of various sectors regarding the practice of good governance in Taguig City’s Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and its influence on community development. Grounded in Good Governance Theory, it assessed insights from SK officials, youth constituents, adult residents, and barangay officials, focusing on key governance principles: transparency, participation, effectiveness, accountability, and rule of law. Using a mixed-method approach—surveys and interviews with 150 respondents from selected barangays—the study identified strengths and challenges in SK governance. Findings revealed moderate adherence to good governance standards. Participation (3.65), accountability (3.65), and rule of law (3.66) were rated positively, while audit report preparation and submission received the lowest score (3.20), signaling a need for improvement. Respondents also highlighted gaps in project management, social inclusion, and transparency. The study concludes that although the SK exhibits a foundational commitment to good governance, targeted improvements are necessary. It recommends enhancing audit and reporting systems, expanding youth engagement in policymaking, and strengthening management and legal protocols. These reforms aim to bolster the SK’s effectiveness and accountability, ultimately advancing inclusive and sustainable community development across Taguig City.
