Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

The APCORE Online Journal (AOJ) requires an Article Processing Charge (APC) of 75 USD or 3,500 Philippine Pesos for manuscripts that have passed the initial editorial screening and are approved for peer review. Payment of the APC is necessary to proceed with the double-blind review process and to ensure the article’s continued processing within the AOJ publication workflow.

The APC supports the operational and technical costs of maintaining AOJ as an open-access, peer-reviewed international journal. Specifically, the fee covers the following:

  • Editorial and Peer Review Management: Processing of submissions, coordination of double-blind peer reviews, and reviewer evaluation.

  • Digital Object Identifier (DOI) Registration: Assignment and maintenance of Crossref DOIs for global discoverability and citation tracking.

  • Copyediting and Production: Formatting, proofreading, and layout preparation for publication consistency and quality.

  • Open Access Hosting and Archiving: Long-term online access, indexing, and digital preservation to ensure unrestricted global readership.

  • System Maintenance and Support: Continuous operation and security of the AOJ Open Journal System (OJS) platform.

No fees are charged upon submission. The APC is only required once the article successfully passes the initial editorial screening and is queued for review. This ensures the sustainability of AOJ’s commitment to open-access publishing under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing authors to retain copyright while promoting the global exchange of knowledge.

All papers will undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Accepted articles will be published in the upcoming issue of AOJ, an open-access, peer-reviewed platform for innovative scholarship.

NOTE:

  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
